Layaway Policy

Three-Month Interest-Free Layaway Policy

Make Your Dream Jewelry Yours Today

At Great American Jewelry, we believe the jewelry you truly love should be within reach. Our in-house layaway program allows you to reserve a special piece of fine jewelry, an engagement ring, a diamond, or another qualifying item while paying over time.

Enjoy three months of interest-free layaway with no financing charges during the agreed term. Choose the piece you love today and plan your payments with confidence.

1. How Our Layaway Program Works

  • 50% down payment: A minimum deposit of 50% of the total purchase price, including applicable sales tax, is required to begin a layaway.

  • Three months interest-free: The remaining balance must be paid in full within 90 calendar days of the agreement date.

  • Scheduled payments: The remaining balance is divided into agreed payment dates, with payments due at least monthly.

  • Price protection: Once the layaway agreement is signed, the agreed purchase price is locked in for the duration of the active agreement.

  • Merchandise release: Your jewelry will be released to you only after the entire balance has been paid.

  • Written receipt: You will receive a written agreement showing your selected merchandise, total price, deposit, payment schedule, and applicable terms.

2. Keeping Your Layaway Active

To ensure fairness to all customers, payments must be made according to the written schedule.

If a payment is missed, Great American Jewelry will contact the customer and provide a seven-calendar-day grace period to bring the account current.

If the account remains past due after the grace period, the layaway may be canceled in accordance with the signed agreement and applicable law. The merchandise may then be returned to active inventory and offered for sale to other customers.

A customer may not extend the layaway term automatically. Any extension must be approved in writing by Great American Jewelry before the original expiration date.

3. Customer-Initiated Cancellations

We understand that circumstances can change. If you decide not to complete your purchase, please contact us promptly.

  • Cancellation within the first 10 calendar days: The customer will receive store credit for all payments made, subject to applicable law and the written agreement.

  • Cancellation after the first 10 calendar days: Refunds or store credits will be handled according to the cancellation terms disclosed in the signed layaway agreement and applicable law.

  • No merchandise is released: Ownership and possession of the merchandise remain with Great American Jewelry until the purchase price has been paid in full and the merchandise is delivered.

Any cancellation fee, forfeiture, or deduction must be expressly disclosed in writing before the first payment and must comply with applicable law. No undisclosed fee will be charged.

4. Expired or Defaulted Layaways

If the balance is not paid by the agreed 90-day deadline, and the customer has not obtained a written extension, the account may be canceled following the notice and grace period stated in the agreement.

Upon cancellation, the merchandise may be returned to inventory. The disposition of all payments already made will follow the written refund and cancellation terms and applicable law.

The customer will be notified of the cancellation and any refund or store-credit amount due. Any required refund will be issued within the time required by law.

5. Important Conditions

  • Layaway applies only to the specific merchandise identified in the signed agreement.

  • Merchandise cannot be exchanged for another item or transferred to another layaway without written store approval.

  • Special orders, custom jewelry, altered merchandise, and other designated items may be excluded or subject to separate written terms disclosed before the agreement is accepted.

  • Any approved extension, change of merchandise, or modification to the payment schedule must be documented in writing.

  • The customer receives a copy of the signed agreement for their records.

Our Promise

At Great American Jewelry, we want you to love your purchase and feel confident about your decision. Our layaway program is designed to make exceptional jewelry more attainable while ensuring that every customer understands the terms from the beginning.
